Student Musician Competition Winner Joins MMM

Ida Faiella, Artistic Director of the chamber music group known as L'Ensemble, has been extremely proud of the Student Musician Competitions that L'Ensemble has sponsored.  Percussionist Jay Sager was one of our Vermont winners in 2008 and will be our guest on Monday Morning Music this week.

Tune in for some unusual and interesting music and remember we will be giving away two lawn tickets to the Tanglewood Festival if you can identify one of the composers.

Jay Sager was born and raised in Bennington, Vermont. Jay will be a senior at SUNY Potsdam College where he studies Music Education and Composition.  He has performed with The Sage City Symphony and has been featured with them as a timpanist. Jay was a member of The Sound of America European Concert Tour where he performed in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland. He is a winner of the Vermont All-State Performance Scholarship (Marimba) and Composition Scholarship.
Jay will perform works by Cangelosi, Abe, Reich, Schwantner and more t the First Congregational Church in Manchester, VT with guest artists Matthew Gold, a Williams College professor, and Miles and Leo Yucht
