Monday Morning Music for 10/19/09

THE VIOLA, IT'S NO JOKE!!!!!

Hear the beauty of this dark instrument and even some of the jokes about it. The violists you'll hear will convince you of the beauty of this "middle voice" including Pinchas Zuckerman, William Primrose, Patricia McCarty and Bennington's own Pamela Geannelis White. Pam was born here, played the piano & began to play the viola while in high school. Summers at Tanglewood and studies at Yale University and Boston University furthered her professional education. Among other groups, Pam played with the Boston Pops.

So remember if you are not in the WBTN listening area, you can tune in via the internet by going to WBTNAM.org and clicking on "Listen Live". So far we've heard from listeners in Ohio, Massachusetts, NYC, Savannah, Paris France and Krakow Poland. Let us know where you are listening. And remember...

Tune in and Just Listen,

Ida Faiella
